Granted, it's not exactly sandal weather right now. But spring is right around the corner -- so it's not too early to keep your eyes out for some warm weather footwear. And as long as you're at it, why not do a little something for the planet?

It seems that what supermodel Gisele Bundchen was thinking. She's not just wearing a new sandal designed to raise awareness about water conservation -- that's all she's wearing. The new Ipanema sandal (which Bundchen designed) was created to support a campaign called Y Ikatu Xingu, which is working to protect the Xingu watershed in the Amazon basin. The Ipanema site in itself has got a touch of green – while it charges , there’s a little seed growing into a branch with leaves. But the days of Friends are over, and yet, I still admire her. I admire her not only for her looks and acting, but most of all for her charms. Jennifer Aniston seems to be a real and down-to-earth woman who is looking for happiness while she's earning heaps of money in the dream factory of Hollywood. The secret of her success as an actress lies in the composition of beauty, talent, and charm. The fans adore and support her not only because she has it all, but first and foremost because she is a real and fleshly woman who happens to be one of the biggest TV and movie stars.

Jennifer was born in Sherman Oaks, California. She was exposed to acting at an early age by her father, John Aniston, who starred for on the soap "Days of Our Lives". Jennifer spent a year of her childhood in Greece with her family, but relocated to New York when her father was cast in "Love of Life." She joined the Rudolf Steiner School's drama club at age 11, and ever since then, knew she wanted to be an actress. Thanks to a rare combiniation of winsome girl-next-door charm and vulnerability, wholesome sex appeal and whip-smart comic timing, Jennifer Aniston found TV stardom playing Rachel Green, the spoiled rich girl making her way in life as a waitress and fashion buyer who relies on her "Friends" in the hit NBC sitcom, becoming one of the most popular actresses of her era. The petite, attractive actress grew up around show business; her godfather was actor Telly Savalas, her mother was a model and actress and her father had a career as a soap opera player. After graduating from NYC's famed High School for the Performing Arts in 1987, Aniston embarked on her career which consisted of TV commercials and a handful of Off-Broadway productions.

At age 20, she headed west and soon landed roles in a string of short-lived sitcoms, generally cast as spoiled or bratty siblings as in "Molloy" (Fox, 1989) and "Ferris Bueller" (NBC, 1990-91). A stint on the Fox variety sketch series "The Edge" (1992-93) further honed her comedic skills; she is perhaps best-recalled as a member of the paranoid, weapons-toting 'Armed Family'. After an agent suggested she lose weight, Aniston shed 30 pounds and won the role of Rachel on "Friends" (1994-2004). Miss Italia is the name of a beauty pageant awarding prizes every year to young, female contestants from Italy. Since the first edition of the contest in 1939 many of the contestants have gone on to notable careers in television and film.

The forerunner of Miss Italia was "Miss Sorriso" (Miss Smile) started in 1939 by Dino Villani, and sponsored by a brand of toothpaste. Contestants were judged by their photographs rather than competing on a runway.

After a break during World War II, the contest resumed in 1946 and adopted the present-day name of Miss Italia. It was held in Stresa, which had managed to maintain its hotel infrastructure despite the war. The venue then changed several times before it was established that Salsomaggiore Terme would be the permanent, annual host to the pageant.

Like contemporary Italian society itself, the Miss Italia has gone through many changes over the years. In 1950 it was first broadcast on the radio. But since 1987 it has been broadcast live on television. As of 1990 the chest, waist, and hip measurements of the contestants are no longer judged, and in 1994 the contest was opened to married women and mothers. (The 1987 winner had been disqualified when it was later discovered she was married.) In 1996, Denny Mendez became the first Miss Italia woman of colour.

Lima is fluent in three languages: Portuguese, English, and French. She also speaks a bit of Italian. Contrary to popular belief, she does not speak Spanish. She has denied being able to speak Spanish, and when asked in videos to speak the language, she expresses only a few words.[24] In her free time, she loves reading a novel by her favorite author, Gabriel Garcia Marquez.[3] Although she has appeared in a few commercials with cars, all of which were completed with the help of a green screen, she has admitted that she does not actually have a driver's license and has yet to learn how to drive.[25]

Lima has admitted that she was shy around boys when she was younger, not receiving her first kiss until she was 17 years old. They were watching a movie, and after the boy kissed her, he went directly to her mother to ask if he could marry her.[26] She did not care to wear shorts because she felt that boys did not like them. She still hides her legs because of that fear.[27] In an interview with GQ in the April 2006 issue, Lima told the magazine that she is a devoted Catholic who attends church every Sunday and is a virgin. "Sex is for after marriage," she explained. "They [men] have to respect that this is my choice. If there's no respect, that means they don't want me."[28] US GQ dubbed her as "The World's Most Voluptuous Virgin."[29]

Lima works out regularly. She jumps rope, does cardio, and has a custom-tailored boxing routine.[30] She admits to eating healthfully and in the past being on carb diets. Her weakness is meat, but she does not like hot dogs.[31]

Lima has been romantically linked to other celebrities in the past, including rocker Lenny Kravitz,[29] Prince Wenzeslaus of Liechtenstein,[23] and Denny of Timbalada.

She is good friends with Nigerian model Oluchi Onweagba.

Currently, Lima is engaged to Serbian basketball player Marko Jarić of the NBA Memphis Grizzlies.[32] The wedding is planned for June of 2009.[33]

Lima has admitted to loving children and plans on having four of her own some day.[33]

Lima's inspirations are Bettie Page and Marilyn Monroe.[33]

Lima owns a small dog by the name of Ivy[33] and two cats, Huguiño and Luisiño.[33]

Since her rise to fame, Lima is often cited by popular media as one of the world's sexiest women. She ranked 7th on FHM 100 Sexiest Women 2007[34] and was chosen as one of People Magazine's annual 100 Most Beautiful People in the World, in May 2007, along with her fellow Angels.[35] On June 13, 2007, she was awarded as "Hottest Girl on the Planet" at the first Spike TV Guys' Choice Awards but the category was not mentioned in the actual show.[36] Lima was also voted on the Maxim Hot 100 2007 as number 53. Charity

Lima does charitable work helping with an orphanage, "Caminhos da Luz" (Ways of Light), located in her hometown. She helps with construction to expand the orphanage, and buys clothes for poor children in Salvador, Bahia. She also stands for animal rights.[12]

Stephanie Rice (born 17 June 1988 in Brisbane, Queensland) is an Australian swimmer. She currently holds the world record in the 200 m and 400 m individual medley as of August 13, 2008, and won three gold medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Rice is trained by Michael Bohl from the St Peters Western Swimming Club in Brisbane.

Rice was the gold medalist in the 200 metres Individual Medley at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia where she defeated Olympians Brooke Hanson and Lara Carroll to claim the gold medal in the event in a time of 2:12.90, a personal best by 1.19 sec. She also won the 400m individual medley.

Rice continued her strong performance, setting a new personal best time in the 400m individual medley at an Italian meet in June 2007. Rice went a 4:40.79, edging closer to the elusive 4:40 barrier in the event. At the 2007 Japanese Open Championships, Rice smashed her personal best time in the 400m individual medley and finally cracked the 4:40 barrier. In placing second to Zimbabwean champion Kirsty Coventry, Rice set a new Australian and Commonwealth record of 4:37.18—a personal best by 3.61 sec.[citation needed]

2008

At the 2008 Australian Olympic trials, Rice broke the world record in the 400 m individual medley. Rice stopped the clock at 4 minutes 31.46 seconds, 1.43 seconds off American Katie Hoff's mark of 4:32.89.[4] On June 29, 2008, at the U.S. Olympic Trials, Hoff retook the world record from Rice with a time of 4:31.12. Rice claimed her second world record of the meet, when she broke the 200 m individual medley world record, clocking 2 minutes 8.92 seconds to slash almost a full second off the previous record held by China's Wu Yanyan.[5]

At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Rice won her first-ever Olympic medal, Australia's first gold medal of the games and its 400th summer Olympic medal[6], winning the 400m individual medley in a time of 4 minutes 29.45 seconds. In the process she reclaimed the world record from Hoff bettering the mark by 1.67 seconds, thus becoming the first woman to break the 4:30 in the event, (Kirsty Coventry also went under 4:30 in taking the silver). Her second gold medal of the games came on August 13 in the 200m individual medley with a new world record time of 2 minutes 8.34 seconds. Rice prevailed after being neck and neck with Coventry, who also went under the old world record[7]. On August 14 she won her third gold medal as part of the 4 x 200 metre freestyle relay team.

Rice attended Clayfield College in her high school years in Brisbane, Queensland.[8][9] The athlete was romantically linked with fellow Australian swimmer and 50m freestyle world record holder Eamon Sullivan; they ended their 2 year relationship in July 2008, just prior to the Beijing Olympics.[10] The couple lived in separate states of Australia, (Sullivan in WA and Rice in Queensland) and said the stress of living so far apart and of course the impending Olympics caused the split of Australia's "Glamour Couple" who once posed together in highly publicised underwear advertisements.
